The Psalms were the life blood and bed rock for the Hebrew people. They interiorized and immersed themselves in them each day. Jesus did the same. He called upon the Psalms memorized in His heart when words would not come. On the Cross… “Father Why Have You Forsaken Me?” and “Into Your Hands I Commend My Spirit”. The Psalms capture and communicate the highs and lows of life for us from times of Lament to times Of Praise.
Psalm 23 The Lord is My Shepherd. We normally think of Psalm 23 at times of grief, loss and trouble but this Psalm can Shepherd us in another way too. ” I Shall not Want!” Perhaps we can read this Psalm before we go to the Mall to remind us of other options for our time and resources.
