HOLY WEEK!  WEEK OF PASSION, WEEK OF PURPOSE! We have travelled,  journeyed together through the Wednesdays of Lent reflecting on “Your lives are a Letter”.  Now we enter Holy Week, the Crowning Correspondence of the Christ, the Salutation of the Savior, the Message that began in a Manger.    What is Holy Week?  I suspect that many folks in our churches this week – and especially those not in church this week – have the same question.  I like to talk about the Church year --Continue Reading→

Pentecost 2013 John 14:8-27 8Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.” 9Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11Believe me that I am in the --Continue Reading→

Easter 2013 Luke 24:1-12   God’s grace and peace from the cross to the grave to the Resurrection to us…Alleluia We have celebrated amazing milestones with Jesus.  We’ve been a part of his life and his Journey 2000 years ago that leads us to today. …A journey that began with Mary when she was told she had been chosen to carry the son of God.  We rejoiced with her and were in awe when she sang her magnificat – I am the servant of the Lord.  Mary said YES!!! We were --Continue Reading→

  1. I am doing some research on my greatgrandparents & thought possibly the church archives might be of some help. My mother told me they attended a Lutheran Church and I know they resided in Victoria for a period of time about 1904 or so till after the 1940 census as I have them recorded on the census. I was not sure if this would be the correct church or if there was another in the area at that time period. The names I am looking for are Rudolph Henry Richard, Minnie Henrietta Richard & children, Helen, Ruth, William, Fritz, Herman, & Emma. Could be more. I am not sure if you keep archives here or if I need to search elsewhere.
Thank you for any response you can give.
    Barbara

    • Do the people you are looking at have the same last name as you? I have not come across your last name in the records but if you give me the full names of the parents and then names of the children, I will be glad to look for you. If you could contact me at ssauer@stjvictoria.com, I will be able to correspond easier and faster.
Trinity has been around since 1851. By 1904, there was also First English Lutheran and some rural churches like Zion Lutheran in Mission Valley, possible Martin Luther Lutheran in Coletoville, and maybe others. contact me with the information and I will check for you.

      Thanks, Sabra Sauer
